Position Summary Samsung Electronics America is recruiting for a Product Specialist to join the Smart TV Business Development Team. The BD Product Specialist will act as a bridge between the Samsung Product and our Smart TV and Samsung Galaxy partners. He/She/They will actively participate in the development of new product concepts and collaborate with our top partners to bring those products to market. The Product Specialist will act as a Partner Expert, developing a deep understanding of partners' business needs, product beliefs and technical challenges and will use those insights to inform the product roadmap. He/She/They will act as the voice of Product in partner meetings, and will work closely with Business Development to help secure participation from partners in key product initiatives. The Product Specialist will be expected to drive products from the conceptual stage to launch, and should possess both a strategic mindset and the ability to dive deep into the details. The Product Specialist will be required to work with cross-functional teams both internally and externally, and should be equally comfortable interfacing with Engineering, Product and Business Development teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the media landscape, OTT and technology trends, Mobile and App Stores, and evolving business models, and will be able to develop and articulate a viewpoint on key trends and their impact on the business. The Product Specialist will have excellent communication skills, as well as a strong analytical bent and the ability to navigate and embrace complexity. As the bridge between Product and the market, he/she/they will need to possess both a Product and BD Partner mindset, and a demonstrated ability to build consensus across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The candidate must have sufficient technical knowledge to translate technical requirements and negotiate with internal and external engineering stakeholders. This candidate must be a self-starter and will need to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, take the initiative, and manage multiple complex operational and strategic initiatives at the same time.Role and Responsibilities Evaluate product market fit and inform launch decisions based on partner feedback and industry expertise Develop the value proposition, partner strategy, marketing materials and product documentation for new products Work with Product and Engineering (including Korea HQ) to refine products based on partners' UX, technical and business needs Educate the BD leads and support them in pitching, negotiating, and securing buy-in from partners Track and communicate status of multiple initiatives across dozens of partners Establish frameworks and tools that allow the team to quickly scale new products Skills and Qualifications BA/BS required, degree in computer science or engineering a plus 10 to 12 years of overall experience with 7
years of relevant experience in product management, user experience design and account management from OTT/Video/Platforms Experience developing products for consumer-facing OTT / Video services or platforms Understanding of the Mobile ecosystem and experience working with product initiatives and App stores Excellent presentation, communication, coordination, and creative problem-solving experience Ability to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizations
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Account Management, Sales Management & OperationsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
