Job Description Looking for a great career opportunity where you can change the world? The Development Manager is responsible for organizing, coordinating, implementing and expanding the Greater New York City Chapter's Peer-to-Peer (P2P) fundraising efforts. Programs include the JDRF One Walks, Ride to Cure Diabetes, Team JDRF, schools fundraising, and DIY fundraising. The Development Manager supports the overall strategic direction and management of the JDRF One Walk. This individual manages a portfolio of corporate and family teams and is responsible for raising budgeted revenue through the JDRF One Walk. The Development Manager also supports all aspects of the JDRF One Walk including corporate sponsorship, marketing, volunteers and event logistics, as well as assigned responsibilities for the other Peer to Peer programs. Under the direction of the Director, Peer to Peer Programs, and in partnership with the National Walk Team and volunteer leadership, contributes to the overall Peer to Peer Program fundraising goal. The Development Manager works with the entire chapter team to ensure that fundraising and community engagement priorities of JDRF grow through increased corporate, family and volunteer involvement. This position will have access to JDRF's New York City office and has the potential to work remotely within the chapter footprint. Must be comfortable traveling across New York City, Long Island, Fairfield County, Westchester County, and the Lower and Mid-Hudson Valley. Responsibilities In partnership with the Director, Peer to Peer Programs, develops a comprehensive participant and donor relations strategy. Serves as the key staff member in implementing the chapter's One Walk program in the Greater New York City Chapter. In partnership with Chapter staff, helps to identify and recruit volunteer Walk leadership including Corporate Chairs, Family Team Chairs, and Walk Committee Chairs. In partnership with chapter staff, helps manage event logistics for the Greater New York City Chapter One Walk, including kick-off and rally events, Walk Day, and Awards Celebrations. Manages recruitment, fundraising and stewardship of all participants in assigned portfolio. Meets registration and fundraising goals for returning and new family, corporate and school teams. Provides fundraising coaching expertise to assigned portfolio focusing on fundraising best practices and tactics. Supports corporate sponsorship efforts including renewals, identifying prospects, creating and delivering proposals, executing benefits and engaging company employees in team participation. Develops a communications plan to engage and steward all participants utilizing email, phone calls, texting, etc. Participates in the development and execution of marketing and promotional plans for all Peer to Peer programs to help identify new prospects for the Peer to Peer Programs and the Greater New York City Chapter. Coordinates the recruitment, engagement, stewardship and deployment of volunteers that support JDRF through committees, office projects and event day activities. Maintains detailed accounts of teams, committees and donor relationships Strategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficiency and effective tracking of donor pipeline. Collaborates with national/regional staff resource teams and other JDRF chapters to discuss best practices and share ideas. Maintains a good understanding of JDRF's mission and research efforts. Supports and demonstrates commitment to the vision, mission, priorities and guiding principles of JDRF. Understands and serves as a key staff member in implementing the strategic direction and purpose of the chapter. Qualifications 4 years of work experience including 2
years of relevant Walk fundraising experience. Experience with event planning logistics in a fundraising environment. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Superb interpersonal skills and the ability to actively listen. Team oriented focus with the ability to work independently Experience with committee development Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM databases. Highly organized & detail oriented. Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced environment, able to multi-task and handle several priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take on new projects. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel within the chapter footprint. Occasional evening and weekend work to support chapter programs. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
