About the Role seeking a privacy attorney to join its global privacy team as Senior Counsel within Legal Department. This position will sit in New York and will report to the Senior Director - Global Head of Privacy based in New York.
Responsibilities:
Advise business partners globally on a broad range of data privacy matters Provide business-minded legal support to Marketing, Sales, Membership, People, Product, Technology, Community, and Procurement teams Develop and implement policies and procedures to drive compliance with data privacy laws Conduct privacy risk assessments Oversee ongoing enterprise-wide data-mapping effort Draft, negotiate, and advise on data protection agreements, terms of service, privacy policies, and other contracts and disclosures Serve as an advisor to various internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with global privacy and requirements Work closely with the InfoSec team on IT security measures and controls and cybersecurity issues Advise on privacy requirements under global data privacy laws Evaluate and respond to data subject requests Drive data stewardship and collaborate on complex privacy and related regulatory issues Monitor developments in the data protection legal landscape globally Assist in designing and delivering training for both business and legal partners on the application of privacy laws and regulations that apply to businesses.
Qualifications:

years of relevant legal experience in the data privacy field. Law degree. Proven expertise in US and global privacy and data protection regulations CIPP, CIPM, and other privacy certification desirable Experience performing privacy gap/risk assessments Experience driving cross-functional and global projects collaboratively. Transactional experience . Familiarity with e-marketing regulations. Familiarity with privacy management technology tools. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build close partnerships with business and legal stakeholders. Ability to translate technical terms and requirements into understandable risk-based recommendations for the business and legal functions and to act as facilitator between the technical and InfoSec teams and the business on privacy and security issues. Ability to prioritize competing projects . Previous in-house experience a plus.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Legal & RegulatoryEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
