Systems Engineer, Systems Management & Solutions Architecture
Overview Supports the daily operations of all areas of VNSNY system management (i.e. authentication, desktop deployment, remote access, patching management, antivirus technology, password expirations etc.) and provides technology support to other staff members. Supports business SDLC life cycle project initiatives and the PMO to ensure deliverables are met under budget and on a timely basis. Works under general direction. Responsibilities Supports management team to meet deadlines and job requirements. Provides subject matter expertise to others on team regarding high priority or special projects undertaken by the area. Supports management and may help coordinate team schedules and availability. Provides technical/consultative knowledge to ensure effective design and integration of VNSNY systems. Assists in supporting IT management in projecting software and hardware costs associated with all endpoints. Prepares status reports for the department manager and keeps management aware of issues. Supports technical documentation creation for Disaster Recovery, Business Continuation and appropriate service level agreements (SLA's). Provides documents for results of application testings, software certifications, policies and procedures in the responsible area. Systematically coordinates and aligns resources with strategic and operational activities. Streamlines as many tasks as possible. Assists with evaluation of new technologies and appropriate budget forecasting. Supports all desktop and client related deployment, such as operating system upgrade and application deployments/upgrades. Utilizes the latest technology Windows Updates for Business in MEMAC/Intune to manage patches for all Operating systems and applications required by the businesses. Assists in maintaining systems management infrastructure (Microsoft SCCM, MEMAC/Intune and related Technologies). Monitors performance of patch level, and every individual system on network. Works with Security team in implementing and maintaining enterprise antivirus technology across agency, and ensures technology runs effectively. Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they arise. Packages applications in MEMAC/Intune with PowerShell scripts if necessary for all application certification and delivery. Works with IT teams to deploy security baselines and company device/user policies via device profiles in MEMAC/Intune. Supports security policy development and enforcement in collaboration with VNSNY IT Security Team. Helps implement and support the latest VPN solution and remote access for all VNSNY endpoints. Supports Microsoft system inventory and monitoring of all systems via Microsoft SCCM and MEMAC/Intune to ensure smooth operations and no disruptions. Supports end-point protection and encryption technology on laptops and mobile device (i.e. mobile iron) via the latest cloud technology MEMAC/Intune, which enables VNSNY to wipe Company owned equipment (i.e. laptop) if stolen or lost. Coordinates and participates in planning, scheduling and rollout of changes includes CM submission, IT Comms and change implementations. Works closely with peers, vendors and support team to analyze complex problems in applications or systems to retore services in timely manner. Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensure:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced IT degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years' IT related experience required. Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Endpoint Manager Admin Center (Intune) and Azure Active Directory/Active Directory are required. Experience in a server administration role managing applications, processes, workflows, and business continuity preferred. Two years' experience developing and supporting package and image deployments using Microsoft SMS/SCCM/MEMAC(Intune), MDT or other Systems Management technologies required. PowerShell scripting is required, VB scripting is desired. Experience and/or expertise in supporting enterprise-level Microsoft server environments which includes but is not limited to:
WSUS, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, desired. .Experience with AWS cloud management is desired.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
