SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a senior GIS analyst for our Half Moon Bay office. This position will support our natural and cultural resources programs. In addition, this position may include collaboration and support from other SWCA GIS groups. What you will accomplish Support GIS workload with the team to ensure that productivity goals are met and that projects are delivered on time and on budget Maintain a collaborative work environment between project managers and GIS specialists Demonstrates technical proficiency in geospatial sciences Leads projects/tasks from start to finish, with guidance Executes technical tasks through self and others Uses industry standard software to edit and analyze complex datasets (geoprocessing, symbolizing, importing/exporting a range of data/file types) Helps ensure overall quality of work is consistent with SWCA's standards and practices alongside other team members Complex map production Portal/ArcGIS Online administration Manage large, complex datasets Create documentation on processes Designs and build tools/scripts to support routine problem solving Independently troubleshoots complex problems for resource teams Design, create, maintain, and QA/QC geospatial databases Prepares draft scopes and budgets for geospatial tasks Active member in technical/industry organizations With guidance, interfaces with clients and agencies related to specific tasks to ensure needs and objectives are met Applies broad knowledge of environmental resources management to the job May supervise, mentor, or coach others Experience and qualifications for success Minimum of a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Geography, Cartography, Archaeology, Biology, Environmental Science or related field with an emphasis in GIS A minimum of four (15) years of professional work beyond university attendance with experience managing geospatial aspects of large complex environmental compliance and planning projects Strong understanding of topological relationships, troubleshooting complex data sets, and applying creative solutions to problems Prior work in natural or cultural resources management, remote sensing, and/or water resources, and prior experience working with federal land agencies such as the USFS, NPS, BLM, BOR, USGS, or other, is very desirable Demonstrated ability of data transfer, data analysis, data mining, and data inventory using software applications (e.g., Windows Explorer, Excel, Access, ESRI ArcGIS) Demonstrated knowledge of cartography and computer mapping including design principles and understanding map creation procedures in ArcGIS General understanding of basic statistics, and geometric math computations (e.g., summary, distributions, frequency, min/max, range, angles, distance, slope, degrees, area) Demonstrated experience with GPS technology, field data collection techniques, data integration to a GIS, and troubleshooting of equipment and digital files. Demonstrated ability to apply spatial and 3D analyses, and raster math within ArcGIS while maintaining data integrity Ability to produce presentations, and/or written protocol of methods for reports or within metadata to replicate GIS-related analyses or modeling techniques applied on projects is strongly preferred SWCA Environmental Consultants is a growing employee-owned firm, providing a full spectrum of environmental services. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
