Backstop is a Chicago headquartered firm that develops a SaaS platform for the alternative investment industry. Over the last few years, we have grown considerably, won several awards, and built a lot of great software. Backstoppers take both our customers and our service very seriously but pride ourselves on not taking ourselves too seriously in the process. We are currently seeking a versatile, results oriented Technical Consultant to join our Professional Services team. What you'll do:
Develop custom client reporting utilizing Excel, VBA, and/or visualization tools such as PowerBI Data extraction, transformation, and migration using SQL, Excel, and proprietary tools Implement and reconcile Fund or Portfolio Accounting & Performance data Product configuration and troubleshooting Create, revise, or maintain suite of in-house tools (Python, Talend, Workato) Consult with Clients and Internal Teams define requirements, relay best practices, and creatively solve problems Assist in developing and documenting processes to drive quality and efficiency Share knowledge and expertise with other Professional Service team members As directed, participate in process improvement initiatives Experience and Skills 2
years of technical/consulting experience BS/BA or equivalent work experience Attention to detail and analytical approach to challenges Propensity for creative problem solving Advanced usage of MS Office suite, particularly Excel Experience with scripting languages (particularly VBA and Python) Intermediate to advanced SQL / T-SQL skills Experience with data analytics or comprehensive data reporting Beginner to intermediate web development
Experience:
HTML, CSS Overall understanding of data structure, migration, and integration concepts Experience using tools or platforms to transform, migrate, or integrate data (e.g. Talend, Workato, Power Automate, etc) Ability to work under strict timelines to meet client expectations Working knowledge of alternative investment industry concepts and practices Familiarity or exposure to:
1) Visualization services (Power BI or Tableau) 2) RESTful APIs Bonus points:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
IT ConsultingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
