00 an hour About the Position We are seeking a full time Level 2 Medical Collector for our business office in New York City.
The individual performs complex insurance claims research to ensure timely account resolution.
Applies pre-established guidelines to perform various insurance claim and account resolution activities.
Tasks include but not limited to research and collection of unpaid and denied insurance claims; extensive telephonic contact with insurance carriers and appeals.
Collector Reviews EOBs to determine underpayments or overpayments Ensures follow-up is completed timely to ensure claims are not denied due to past filing deadlines.
Ensures that accounts are noted appropriately to indicate follow-up activity.
Reviews AR Aging reports and reports any payer trends.
Works credit balance reports and reports any payer trends.
Is familiar with insurance payers guidelines and updates.
Is familiar with filing insurance claims grievances.
