Associate Director, Latin American Economist

Your roleAre you an innovative thinker? Are you focused on the details, even when under pressure? Do you enjoy delivering enhanced change capabilities across a range of business functions? We're looking for an Associate Director, Latin American Economist to:
oProduce timely economic forecasts and written reports on the main economies of Latin America, with special focus on the Andean countries.
oSupport the trading and sales efforts in all products in which the firm is involved in Latin America, including equities, bonds, and FX.
oProvide analysis and investment advice on Latin America based on macroeconomic analysis to external institutional clients, including:
mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and central banks.
oEstablish the firm's official view on the Andean economic outlook.
Interact with the press (print, radio, TV) to promote the firm's macroeconomic views on Latin America.
oApply the latest economic research and econometric/statistical methods.
oMaintain and expand an extensive database of economic indicators for the region.
oEstablish connections with senior foreign officials in governments and central banks.
oParticipate in public conferences on Latin American economies.
oLead client trips to the region to meet policy makers and economic and political consultants.

You'll be working in the Investment Banking team in New York, New York.
Your expertiseEducation & Experience RequirementoThis position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in International Affairs, Economics, Finance, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of experience in economics, central banking, or a related occupation.
Alternative Education & Experience Requirement (if applicable) oThe employer will alternatively accept a Doctorate degree in International Affairs, Economics, Finance, or a related field of study.
Position requires any amount of experience with the following:
oEconomic theory; oMacroeconomic theory; oFiscal and monetary theory; oStatistics; oEconometrics; oInternational relations; oPolitical economy; oStatistical software:
Eviews, Stats, R, and Matlab; andoData Management software:
Bloomberg, Haver, and Visual Basic.
Must be fluent in Spanish.
Position requires up to 30% domestic and international travel.

Salary informationCA, CO, WA and NY based roles:
The salary range for this role is $161,429-$212,500 based on experience, education, and skill level.
This role may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
