The laboratory technician must be capable of performing multiple functions in support of the effort to provide quality fragrances to our clients in the best time possible.
The duties include precisely mixing chemicals for fragrances by following formulas exactly, having an awareness of and ensuring adherence to laboratory safety guidelines and procedures, working knowledge of various equipment and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions :
Must work closely and communicate clearly with perfumer(s) Make sure all formulas, perfumers or resubs are prioritized.
Director of Sample Lab & Application Lab and Sample Lead will help with prioritizing.
Retrieves ingredients as indicated on the formula, includes obtaining oils from the Kardex fragrance library Identifies and melts solids with designated melting chemicals, using hot plates Identifies ingredients that require dilution and dilutes appropriately Completes any necessary documentation and records Becomes familiar with the odor and physical appearance of raw materials; observe mixture to ensure desired results are achieved.
Accurately labels bottles of samples, new solutions, and retains appropriately Ensures samples are olfactively approved before shipment Keeps raw materials and supplies stocked and properly stored and labeled Uses equipment properly and follows relevant quality and operating procedures Maintains clean work area including proper disposal of all waste Adheres to safety regulations and procedures Develops working knowledge of the automation robot while performing assigned operation functions, as required by the Manager Other Duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications :
High School Degree or equivalency (GED) required.
1-2 years' experience, preferably in fragrance compounding Strong basic math skills Computer literate Precision in work; attention to details Must be able to lift 40 lbs An understanding of the importance of handling chemicals safely and following safety regulations, guidelines and procedures.
