Job Duties of General Manager Responsible for the overall financial, physical, and regulatory well-being of approximately 1,200 affordable housing units (46 bldgs.
) Must have a thorough understanding of Rent Stabilization, HUD, HPD, HCR, NYCHA, FHEPS, and LIHTC rules and regulations.
Manage the leasing process for vacant units to ensure a timely turnaround.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with such agencies as DOB, HPD, DOHMH, & DSNY.
Ensure that buildings are well maintained by following maintenance schedules, inspecting the properties, and tracking the timely and proper completion of work orders.
Maintain a professional working relationship with residents, ownership, vendors, inspectors, regulatory agencies, etc.
Prepare annual budgets and identify variances in monthly/quarterly statements.
Prepare for and complete property and file audits/inspections.
Understands affordable Housing rules and regulations and ensures compliance with regulatory agreements.
Conduct unit inspections to ensure they are properly maintained.
Hire, Train and manage employees.
Assists with oversight and implementation of capital projects.
Responds to emergencies as needed.
Fully understands all company policies, procedures, standards, and training requirements.
Attends virtual and in-person weekly meetings with Ownership.
Maintains compliance with all Federal, State and Localrules and regulations including but not limited to LL52,LL84, & LL97.
Job Requirements for general manager Minimum of 5 years Supervisory level affordable housing management experience.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Yardi Voyager Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
