About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician.
You must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including weekend, holiday and early morning/midday/late evening weekday and overnight.
You will work 35-40 hours per week.
You will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance work requiring the knowledge of one or more skilled trades (e.
g.
, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting) to resolve facility operational and/or safety concerns.
Tradespeople will work both alone and as a team depending on the required peoplepower to complete a task or project.
Work will be delegated and put on the maintenance schedule by the Operations Manager on a weekly basis.
You will work with and report to staff in both our Field House and Sky Rink venues.
You will be expected to:
Perform a variety of facility and equipment repair and maintenance activities within multiple areas of trade expertise (e.
g.
, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, concrete, drywall, painting) Use a genie and scissor lifts and other cleaning machines when necessary Assist in space planning and optimization, setting up work areas, and ensuringcompliance with all safety regulations within the facility Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels Perform routine maintenance of HVAC equipment including changing filters and belts Take initiative with communicating with clients to understand their needs and provide progress on repairs and address any concerns or questions they may have regarding the facility Procure equipment and supplies in collaboration with outside vendors for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items Inspect facilities, systems, and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and cleanliness and identifying necessary repairs Wear Chelsea Piers uniform and name tag About You:
You have a minimum of 7 years experience in building maintenance and a valid driver's license.
You will also have:
Specific skill-based competencies required to perform the functions of the job include:
adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in specific trade work; leading and guiding other skilled maintenance workers; and planning and managing projects Ability to lift up to 30 to 45 pounds Ability to climb 6' 8' and 12' ladders and go up on a Genie lift up to 24' high Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous Ability to speak Spanish and English is a plus Chelsea Piers is an incredible place to work!
