Development Associate - Position Overview Fiver is seeking a Development Associate who deeply believes in creating a level playing field for youth from systemically under resourced communities.
The associate will support the maintenance of our donor data, ensuring timely donor acknowledgments of their giving, generate reports to share our efforts with board members, and complete ongoing data cleanup projects throughout the year.
They will work with the Director of Development, Executive Director, and Development Associate to track and manage event attendance and other donor interactions in our database, and conduct donor research as needed.
They will also support day of events as needed, including selected volunteer events, and fundraising events.
They will support the execution of Fiver's Annual Benefit, which has grown to raise a significant share of Fiver's budget, raising $950,000 in spring 2023.
This position is part of Fiver's development team and reports directly to the Director of Development.
The associate will interact regularly with our program staff, participants, families, and donors, and possibly occasional visits to our camp in central New York during the summer.
This role will be primarily virtual, and a desk space will be provided for in-office days.
Donor Relations & Database Management (75%) Support donor stewardship efforts, including help with special donor mailings and blast emails as appropriate throughout the year (notes from participants, graduation photos, etc.
), both via direct mail and email as appropriate.
Conduct donor research as needed ahead of special events and donor meetings as assigned.
Oversee entry and acknowledgement of donations and tracking of donor interactions in Raiser's Edge.
Support Director of Development with ongoing data maintenance and data cleanup projects.
Create various donor reports, including bi-weekly donation reports, give/get reports for board members, and mailing lists, with an attention to detail and accuracy.
_ Events Support (25%)_ Support execution of Fiver's Annual Benefit, with a critical focus on data management and donor research (donations, pledges, address updates) Support logistics of cultivation events throughout the year including attendee tracking, creating nametags, and supporting day of event check in and set up Ensure attendance, pledges, in-kind, and cash donations are entered in Raiser's Edge and gifts acknowledged in a timely fashion.
Core Competencies and Qualifications 1-3 years of related work experience.
Excellent writing skills and the ability to inform donors, event attendees, etc in a clear and compelling manner Ability to multitask and work well in a team, as well as independently.
Motivated, can do attitude, friendly personality, quick learner, and a desire to take initiative.
Highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to work within tight deadlines Able to work collaboratively with all levels of staff A high level of computer literacy required, including Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
Familiarity with fundraising software (Raiser's Edge or similar database) a plus.
Familiarity with Canva also a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
