We are seeking a licensed attorney to join our team for a remote civil litigation role.
The ideal candidate must have an active NY state license and experience handling all aspects of civil litigation, including pleadings, motions, legal research, depositions, arbitrations, trials, and negotiations.
This is a 2-3 month contract with the possibility of converting to a full-time Client Employee.
Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including pleadings, motions, legal research, depositions, arbitrations, trials, and negotiations.
Research applicable laws and findings, develop legal strategies for all stages of litigation, and share them with claims representatives and insured clients.
Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, etc.
Negotiate settlements as required.
Establish and maintain good relationships with claims representatives and insured clients.
Render clear, unambiguous legal opinions and strategies.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in the State of NY.
Experienced civil litigation attorney with a strong background in handling various stages of litigation.
Familiarity with the entire legal process, from investigation and discovery through trial prep and court proceedings.
Ability to work remotely but required to go into court for hearings.
Strong research and legal writing skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
