Role description:
As an Assistant Project Manager/ Resident Engineer, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of construction management, municipal infrastructure, building construction, building systems including MEP, site development, and general civil/structural knowledge to successfully oversee and manage Arcadis on-site team for its delivery of construction management services for the construction of a new boiler building at a NYCHA development located in Brooklyn, NY.
You will work under the supervision of the Project Manager/Construction Manager or Project Executive.
Role accountabilities:
Manage the firm s day-to-day construction management services including resident engineering and inspection and oversee and manage the general contractor s performance and progress.
Manage and mentor superintendent and inspection staff in monitoring and tracking the contractor s work, performance, quality, schedule, and safety.
Ensure the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with the clients requirements.
Manage sub-consultants and review sub-consultant monthly invoices for completeness and accuracy.
Manage and mentor field office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, compiling and drafting of required reports, tracking and logging, and other deliverables.
Proactively engage in the contractor s planning and execution of the work to foresee and help resolve design/construction issues Review the contractor s CPM schedule and other schedule documentation including but not limited to monthly updates, schedule narratives, delays, time impact analyses, and time extension requests.
Provide comments, analysis, and deliverables.
Manage the change order process including preparation, estimation, and negotiation.
Act as liaison to design staff to respond to contractor s RFIs, review of shop drawings, and resolution of other issues as needed.
Effectively act as a liaison with the Program Management and NYCHA Asset and Capital Management staff to communicate and resolve all project issues as required.
Effectively act as a liaison with NYCHA s Property Management, Heating Division and Tenant s Association to coordinate construction activities with NYCHA s existing housing development needs.
Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
Responsible for overall site safety, MPT, permit condition compliance and coordination with other participant agencies.
Monitor contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness.
Exert influence over contractor to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.
Manage the contractor payment process and recommend appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the contractor.

Required
Qualifications:
10 years or more of experience with at least 5 years of Assistant Project Manager/Resident Engineer experience specifically for NYC Metro Public agencies.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction or a related field of study.
Able to use basic functions of construction software document management applications such as eBuilder and the MS Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

New York Professional Engineer License.

We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
The salary range for this position is $122,000 - $183,000.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
