Nurse Manager (RN) - ICU

A healthcare organization in New York City is actively seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as a Nurse Manager. In this role, the Nurse Manager - ICU will be responsible for directly managing day-to-day operations of the ICU, including management of RNs, LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and other support staff.

Responsibilities:
The Nurse Manager - ICU will:


  • Ensure clinical support coverage and training across common areas of coverage for RNs and PAs to ensure staffing and service standards for IP and ED coverage
  • Work with campus leadership to meet the goals of the hospital in supporting the Emergency Department and Inpatient services
  • Oversee financial performance of Nursing, including development of the budget, supply chain initiatives, and personnel expenses
  • Facilitate learning needs of self and staff by providing opportunities for staff development to gain skills necessary to provide care to ICU patients and to ensure competency and current knowledge in the profession
  • Lead and collaborate on specific projects as it relates to operations and process improvement
  • Ensure that adequate written safety procedures, work instructions, emergency procedures, and operating instructions are issued to all nursing staff
  • Performing other duties, as needed


Qualifications:


  • 3
    years of Critical Care experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communications kills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:


  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Critical Care Certification

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
