Summary:
As a Director of Product & Technology, this role is responsible for driving the development and management of the features and functionality of our internal associate facing retail, planning, buying, merchandising, fulfillment and supply chain systems to provide a seamless, world-class experience across a diverse, multichannel environment for International stores and e-commerce. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to drive the engineering of product features and capabilities to leverage the latest technologies, operating models, platforms, eco-systems and capabilities to support rapid international expansion. This role offers the opportunity to use deep knowledge of international markets and the technology that unlocks value within each of them as we grow brand awareness of American Eagle and Aerie and elevate the customer experience around the world.
Responsibilities:
Drive a digital transformation in the international business by leaning into all aspects of technology to drive speed, agility and consistency with high quality omni-channel experiences leaning into own and/or 3rd party solutionsProvide a single point of coordination and communication at the highest level to gain executive sponsorship, streamline communication, ensure common understanding of development plans, facilitate portfolio change management and implement tracking and status reporting for the total project portfolioOwn the presentation of the International Associate Product Roadmap to all Product teams and effectively collaborate with all teams to ensure the timely delivery of International featuresMaintain strong customer focus while coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders, vendors and IT resources in implementation of key projects using effective verbal and written communication.Focus on improving associate and customer needs by enhancing product capabilities with a deep business understanding to drive value opportunitiesManage budget in partnership with various project managers across the organizationBuild effective partnerships with customer product teams across and within Technology PillarsProvide leadership to Product managers and Engineers, foster a positive team environment and provide direction in ambiguous situationsUse negotiation skills, influence and creativity to achieve successful outcomes around scope, schedule, cost/budget, risks/issues and resourcesRepresent the cross functional business partners in International with Ideation and Solution exploration for new FeaturesArbitrate and resolve conflict across or within technology pillars when necessary as related to program delivery; understand appropriate paths and methods for escalations Be proactive and exercise initiative in identifying, tracking and removing impediments to program success; approach risk identification and mitigation accordingly, including establishing contingency plans and initiating coarse corrective action Engage with supply chain, 3PL operations and inventory planning to enhance service levels and inventory effectivenessMaintain a deep knowledge of industry trends, advancements and new capabilitiesCollaborate with US technology leadership to leverage key areas of focusProvide consistent support, tools, and methods to project leaders for the completion of projects against defined objectives and key results (OKR s)Executive Stakeholder Management:
Deliver consistent communication to key stakeholders and relevant business partners from product lifecycle though launchCommunicate all relevant business decisions and key metrics to leadership teamDevelop strong relationships with business owners, senior leadership, and executive team
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in computer science or related technical fieldAt least 12 years of experience managing technology projects, including end to end experience for medium to large projects and programs in Retail, International Retail experience is a plusSuccess in managing multiple large IT projects simultaneouslyComfortable exercising judgment and using analytical skills in ambiguous situationsOutstanding attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture Thorough understanding of IT infrastructure and technology in large retail ecosystemsAbility to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment; proactive in seeking out information when necessaryAbility to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgment to assess risks and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed written narrativeProven ability to engage with other leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationshipStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation & planning skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a teamAbility to work with and influence peers and senior managementAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environmentSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reportingExperience with agile developmentData driven mindset and track recordHybrid role; 2-3 days per week in NYC office is requiredPAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION:
