1 B health system in Buffalo, New York, announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished, dynamic physician leader to serve as Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive and Chief Clinical Officer.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO of Catholic Health, the Chief Physician Executive (CPE) leads the clinical enterprise, accountable for developing and achieving highly reliable quality care with excellent value consistent with the Mission of Catholic Health across the enterprise.
In close collaboration with system leaders, the CPE will drive population health and patient care initiatives across the regional continuum of care and its enabling clinical infrastructure elements, resulting in the highest reliable quality and value of care and the achievement of strong economic performance, regardless of the payment model.
The Chief Physician Executive (CPE) is responsible for collaborating on the strategic vision of the delivery of care, while establishing and implementing proper processes and protocols.
Additionally, the CPE will be responsible for maintaining and developing ongoing strong relationships with Catholic Medical Partners, capitalizing on the value of the integrated delivery network for continued growth of Catholic Health.
The Chief Physician Executive will provide strategic executive physician leadership and clinical expertise to ensure the highest level of physician quality and productivity, physician and medical staff recruiting and credentialing, physician talent management, and physician service improvement work efforts are achieved.
The CPE shares responsibility for developing strategy and budgets, leading clinical transformation and innovation within the system.
Additionally, the CPE will assume the full responsibility for clinical resource (skill and geographic) distribution, establishing and communicating capital priorities, and developing and ensuring clinical service standards across sites of care and disciplines.
While doing so the CPE will ensure that team members are performing at their highest level of quality, productivity and value, while at all times recruiting and retaining strong and talented associates to deliver all aspects and disciplines of care and support services for Catholic Health.
The Ideal Candidate:
Significant leadership, with more than 10 years of experience practicing medicine along with medical staff or administrative leadership positions.
Significant experience working with physicians, Administration, and the Board of Directors of a health system.
A history of strong teamwork, interpersonal relations, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
An ability to get along with diverse personalities and to handle multifaceted, long-term projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
Relationship driven, highly motivated physician executive who brings a results-oriented approach.
Vibrant leader with proven success building strong clinical and operational teams, fostering collaborative physician/provider and staff relationships and a record of operational and clinical performance excellence.
Advanced business or related degree (MBA, MHA, MSM, MSHA).
Board certification, or equivalent, in Surgery or Medicine with a current physician license, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of New York.
