Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payments provider for businesses and corporations of all sizes, with small business being the largest customer segment and a continued area of investment and focus.
The Small Business Marketing Team is responsible for acquisition and customer engagement marketing for all Small Business Charge, Proprietary Lending, and co-brand cards.
Within Small Business Marketing, the Small Business Prospect Marketing Team creates best-in-class, integrated prospect experiences to acquire new Cardmembers and accelerate US SME growth.
The Director of Paid Search reaches and converts prospective Card Members through our branded and generic paid search programs.
This role is responsible for maximizing ROI on a multi-million-dollar budget, identifying and championing innovation to reach and resonate with small business owners to help them connect with our products.
In partnership with internal and external teams, this role will manage performance and drive innovation.

Key
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 7 channel experts to acquire new Card Members across the Small Business portfolio.
Develop a clear and compelling branded and generic search strategies for Paid Search to deliver on current year targets and position the channel for ongoing growth.
Develop and implement the Paid Search channel roadmap and strategy, while managing all operational aspects of the program including forecasting, budgeting, and campaign management.
Build and nurture relationships with internal and external partners to identify, prioritize and execute growth opportunities (incl.
AIM, CPS, EDDS, GIO, etc.
).
Serve as Paid Search expert for the organization.
Work closely with Google and other partners to identify new testing opportunities and betas.
Leverage data to analyze and assess creative, UX, and product performance, identifying areas for further optimization and new opportunities for growth.
Develop and foster cross functional relationships with partners across American ExpressMinimum
Qualifications:
8
years of relevant work experience in a high-growth digital environment, ideally with experience in paid search.
Consistent track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies, preferably performance digital channels.
Experience developing, motivating, and leading a high performing team.
An ability to understand how investments drive performance and comfort building forecasts.
Comfort working with varied data sets to surface insights and form recommendations.
Strong partner or client management skills, with proven ability to influence and negotiate.
Experience partnering with external agencies.
A growth mindset, with experience both delivering on proven tactics alongside developing a future strategic vision.
Strong communication skills, including the following abilities:
Present complex concepts in a simple and clear manner.
Flex approach and material based on audience and partner needs.
Influence and guide conversations towards alignment.
