Job Description
Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our New York, NY office.
The Assistant Project Manager will support interior renovation and construction projects (retail stores, office fit-outs and other commercial properties) from our NYC office. The desired candidate will have experience in project or construction management and have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects working with the Client, architect, design teams, contractors, vendors and understanding NYC construction trades and regulations.
Candidates will have experience in all project phases: planning, design oversight/pre-construction, construction, project turnover, commissioning and commercial management; as well as a degree in project management, architecture, engineering, or construction. The Assistant Project Manager may be involved in any or all of the following: contract scope definitions, procurement of contractors / trades / vendors, contract negotiations, contract administration, payment process, change order control, cost control, schedule control and quality control. Candidate will manage work to be in compliance with state, local and Federal requirements and will monitor Arcadis' subcontractor adherence to safety standards. Candidate will have excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills and will operate with the highest ethical standards. A work history that represents increased levels of responsibility on a progressive basis is important.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with the contractor(s), local government(s), and other agencies having jurisdiction and Owner to solve project challenges representing the Owner's best interest.
Solve complex challenges relating to project schedule and budget as an effective member of the project team.
Observe and monitor contractor team to ensure that the project is being constructed in accordance with the approved plan and specifications and that critical project milestone are or will be met. Engage with the Client's local operations staff to facilitate maintenance of existing operations during construction.
Create budgets and develop project schedules.
Ensure that project schedule and milestones are completed by the General Contractor and subcontractors.
Ensure that change orders and scope changes are approved by the Client.
Ability to track and manage General Contractors and subcontractors.
Supervise inspection personnel and on-site construction for conformance with contract requirements.
Write detailed daily and/or weekly reports of the progress of the project to be recorded by the Document Controls/Field Engineer.
Able to manage the overall project schedule and maintain the actual start and finish dates for all tasks.
Be a Team player and willing to learn from others but also be able to manager others.
Occasionally, travel outside the New York area may be needed in best serving our Clientele.
Minimum Years of Experience 3.
Required Qualifications
Experience with multi-national or Fortune-500 companies
Experience in projects where the Client is hands-on

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
Project Management experience in NYC.
Minimum of 3
years Project Management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
CAD and/or BIM experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
