ArchCare at Mary Manning Walsh is seeking a qualified and dedicated recreation therapy assistant who is available to work Saturday and Sundays (5 hours per day) and if needed during the week for special programs. The ideal candidate should be able to meet the social, physical, and emotional needs of our residents by encouraging participation in highly structured activities as designed by the Director and professional therapy staff. Some of the essential functions of this position include:
Remind and encourage residents to attend structured activities.
Transport residents to programs and oversees activity to insure resident safety.
Assist in leading therapeutic recreation activities (IE Coffee Klatch; Bingo , Movie Hour , Ice Cream Social , Music Programs)
Friendly visits with assigned resident''s. Content of visit to include : reading newspaper to resident. bringing music listening and talking book tapes to residents assisting resident with letters to family and friends. alerting residents as to programs available upcoming event and trips etcetera.
Copies, distributes and posts weekly and monthly recreation calendar.
Copies, Distributes, and posts weekly & monthly activities calendar on Sunday morning.
Keeps bulletin boards up to date and decorated with appropriate seasonal themes.
Distributes weekly and monthly activities calendar on Sunday morning.
Takes statistics on residents attending weekend program and inputs data into Excel spreadsheet.
Posts flyer's describing special events and recreation therapy programs in elevator bulletin boards (as assigned by Director or professional staff).
Posts monthly birthday list on each floor.
Ensures reality orientation boards have pieces necessary for use.
Monitors door signs; replacing any damaged signs and ensuring all residents have a sign.
Provides assistance with resident care where applicable.
Qualifications
Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent a must; Associates degree preferred; must have at least 1 year experience working with elderly/frail population.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
