Business Intelligence Analyst

The Finance Business Intelligence team works with internal and external stakeholders to support the OnDeck finance team to execute on its mission. This involves developing analytical tools to help identify areas of improvements to key operational metrics, assisting in the accurate creation of financial data reporting for our regulatory filings as well as supporting the funding side of the business. The primary responsibilities of a BI Analyst are the ideation, design, implementation, and monitoring of core financial reports that help us analyze the health of our business. This includes the development of Tableau Reports, Database Cleansing, and ensuring that the existing reporting infrastructure sustains its integrity.
As a BI Analyst for Finance at OnDeck, you will:
Work with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) / Capital Markets/ Accounting teams, and collaborate with other analysts across the business to propose, build and maintain analytical tools that drive deep insights into the business drivers.
Design Business Intelligence reports based upon high level specifications.
Automate manual off-line processes (i.e. excel to automated self-service reporting)
Own, maintain, and troubleshoot business-critical data sources/tables/processes
Document critical business processes and data definitions for core reports.
Qualifications for success:
1-3 years BI experience
Strong sense of data and hands-on experience with relational and non-relational database, knowledge of SQL preferred
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to translate numbers into a story
Strong Excel skills
Pentaho/Tableau experience a plus
Understanding of data concepts and technologies a plus
Ability to work independently and a strong sense of self-motivation are critical.
