Summary:
The position will report to Head of the Corporate Risk and Controls team and will be accountable for executing controls across the enterprise. Support the Creation of end to end oversight and reporting of issue identification, escalation and remediation
Support the standardization of Risk and Control governance help develop a refined governance program for 1st line of defense. Administer regular governance and track results of governance forums. Develop the Sharing of Best Practices and Lessons Learned for 1st and 2nd lines of defense
Major
Responsibilities:
Accountable to help develop documents, meetings and reporting to stand up the risk and controls function and to maintain regular frequency reporting.
Administration of governance: Build consolidated governance meetings across 1st line and including 2nd line of defense
Build central calendar for delivery across all 9 modules for execution of work annually- maintain the calendar with regular production and publication in governance meetings and to 1st and 2nd lines of defense
Build consistent mapping of deliverables for 1st line of defense to enable regular tracking and reporting
Work to develop The work programs to deliver streamlined issue management reporting to 1st line of defense
Identify opportunities and process to share best practices related to risk and controls and remediation work done to complete closure of issues
Development and production of monthly status scorecards that provide all levels of staff including executive management a consolidated view of the tracking and progress for remediation work
Develop a consistent process and reporting to share lessons learned with 1st and 2nd lines of defense
Help to develop the process for root cause analysis including documentation of root cause analysis, process to execute root cause analysis and the reporting for the analysis
Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with Business Unit Risk Managers and other Operational Risk SME's
Strong oral / written communication skills.
Able to build relationships with people at all levels
Ability to take initiative and execute ideas
Superior PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint skills.
Ability to promote cooperation and good working relationships among team members
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance helpful
Broad view of the financial services industry.
Past experience in operational risk, compliance, audit or controls.
Understanding of operational risk management programs and practices helpful
Strong organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
Superior PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint skills.
Experience compiling PowerPoint presentation decks and excel charts and graphs.
2-5 years' experience in financial industry risk or controls or compliance or audit functions
Familiarity with operational risk regulatory requirements and industry practices a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage workloads and prioritize deliverables, ability to be flexible
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good analytic skills
