Director- Sr. LatAm Economist

Global Markets Latin America has an integrated model, with strong participation of Research in our marketing strategy and constant dialogue with our market making desks. As we expand into the region, with a growing presence in M xico and Colombia, a properly staffed Economics Research team is fundamental to our value creation, providing high value content to our external and internal clients and active engagement with officials and market peers as well.
Responsibilities:
Provide macroeconomic research on assigned Latin American countries (mainly Mexico and Colombia), and contribute to broader internal work (discussions , projections, publications) when requested.
Actively contribute to internal risk meetings.
Maintain regular dialogue with policy-makers in assigned countries.
Support BNP Paribas business lines that benefit from the analysis and macroeconomic research expertise.
Actively engage with sales and trading to maximize business impact. Manage assistant junior economist.
Market views to clients in effective and engaging manner
Qualifications:
At least Master's Degree in Economics. PhD is preferred.
At least 5-10 years of professional Research Experience, preferably including in sell side companies.
Fluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory, including strong written skills.
Experiencewith using Econometrics tools, such as Eviews.
Strong technical skills,
Good written and verbal communication skills,
Willingness to take bold non-consensus views that are challenging and add value
Ability to interact with clients and a good sense of empathy.
Team player
FINRA Registrations Required:
Series 7 and Series 63.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
