Job Purpose
NBC Entertainment Digital is looking for a Manager to help drive our data science and analytics efforts at 30 Rock in New York. Amongst television studios and surrounded by an industry leading team of creative professionals, the successful applicant will be providing data support for our late night shows and ad sales teams. The Manager provides analyses, business intelligence, and data science to multiple groups within the organization, including: Product, Engineering, Marketing, Media, Strategy, Finance and Social. Writing code level queries of our relational databases while applying standard techniques such as segmentation, clustering, regression, and decision tree modeling, this is a rare position that applies data science to the art of television. It is a highly visible role that will work closely with multiple groups and levels of leadership within NBC Entertainment.
As the Manager of Data Science, you will play a key role in building out our reporting capabilities and data strategy. You will help integrate multiple data sources and define key business metrics for the group. You will also provide analyses into show performance and customer engagement across all of our digital platforms, supporting operators who run apps, social platforms, sites, digital marketing campaigns, customer acquisition plans, sales campaigns as well as teams creating products needing optimizations and testing.
The Manager of Data Science: NY reports to the Senior Director of Analytics and Data. The position sits within NBC Entertainment Digital, a quickly growing team of friendly yet hard working digital professionals at NBC, the nation's #1 TV network. The position is located in historic 30 Rock, Rockefeller Plaza, New York City.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Help drive A/B testing for Marketing and Product teams through reporting and insight.
Find growth opportunities through customer segmentation and retention analysis. Create customer cohorts through predictive modeling and CRM database marketing.
Drive data integration and data ingestion strategies.
Provide ETL support through API integration, table definition, and documentation of business metrics.
Help manage prioritization in sprints and participate in daily scrums.
Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Ad Sales, Strategy, and Production teams to provide BI support and data analysis.
Create standardized reporting for multiple groups within the NBCED organization.
Provide ad-hoc analyses, troubleshooting, and deep dives as needed.
Create presentations and communicate findings in regular weekly/monthly presentations.
Create, define, and document various data-related processes. Help drive data governance initiatives within the organization.Basic
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of applied work experience in BI, Analytics, and/or Data Science. Hands on experience analyzing and mining large datasets.
Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field from a top tier institution, such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics. Master's Degree Preferred
