What You'll Do:
TheGrants Coordinator reports into the Director of Operation and will providesupport for the daily operations of all grants and administrative activities ofseveral faculty members (Principal Investigators) within the Division ofHematology/Medical Oncology. The individual will assist the PrincipalInvestigator in the preparation and submission of all Federal, State andFoundation grants and contract applications. Additional duties include routineexpense/transaction requests, and other operational tasks, such as ordering oflaboratory supplies, ordering of animals, HR duties for laboratory members,budget preparation, general ledgers, and running statistical reports inconjunction with our Grants Manager, scheduling of meetings, and calendarmanagement.
Pre-Award
Participatein the completion of grant applications, and special projects for thelaboratories.
Assistthe Principal Investigator with submitting grants applications to SponsoredPrograms.
Researches,locates and compiles information for reports. Assembles and categorizes figuresfor computation and calculations. Prepare statistical reports using the generalledger.
Post-Award
Inconjunction with the Grants Manager, support the PI by preparing and reviewingtravel and business expense reports, payment requisitions for all lab members.
Reconcilingof all accounts which require matching expenses to invoicing and documenting asappropriate.
Asdirected by the Grants Manager, insure the proper fund account numbers arecharged for all purchases. Reviews and prepares expenditure corrections asneeded.
OtherActivities
Setupof InfoEd proposal and Financial Conflict of Interest forms in Sinai Central
Maintainsthe employee files for all laboratory members, and ensures compliance withregulatory standards
TrackPTO time for lab personnel and generates quarterly reports for TCI Administration.
Routinelyupdate principal investigator biographical sketch which includes (but is notlimited to) adding grants as they are awarded, journals and articles as papersare written.
Attendlab meetings, take notes on outstanding items and follow up with lab members toensure completion of tasks.
Schedulelab/group/individual meetings with Principal Investigators (PI) as required.
Inconjunction with the Principal Investigator design and maintain laboratorywebsite
Proofreading scientific publications, grants and other documents as assigned.
Preparecheck request, business expense reports, facilitate service request and non-employeereimbursement forms.
Assistsin the planning and logistical arrangements for forums, conferences, seminars,meetings and/or visiting professorships. Assist in the development andcoordination of informational packets for participants.
Investigates,evaluates and resolves typical administrative or operational problems orsituations affecting the laboratory.
Ensuresadequate restock of supplies for laboratories. Takes inventory or examinesmerchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished. Requisitionsmerchandise from supplier and collaborates with Purchasing to secure the bestpricing for equipment and supplies. Tracks expiration of vendors' contracts andrenews as needed.
Servesas a liaison with other departments or external parties as necessary toaccomplish objectives and or complete projects or assignments.
Maketravel arrangements and accommodations. Prepares travel reimbursements andexpense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Pickup and deliver mail for laboratories. Screen and prioritize incoming mail forneeded action and follow up. Responds to mail where appropriate and distributesmail requiring attention to appropriate individual(s). This included sendingpackages on dry ice, and liquid nitrogen to other institutions.
Performsother duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor'sdegree preferred, or a combination of experience and education
Knowledgeof grants administration highly desirable
Fiveyears of experience in a hospital setting or medical office experience required
Skillin use of MAC and PC, MS Office
Knowledgeof

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
