What You'll Do:
TheAssociate Scientist is experienced in the conduct of research involving theunderstanding of human diseases and improvement of human health. May assist inthe operation of the clinical laboratory. Engages in clinical investigation orother research, production, technical writing, and related activities, and maymentor less senior scientist and Associate Researcher staff.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Conductsresearch to develop methodologies, instrumentation and procedures for medicalapplication, analyzing data and presenting findings
Designsand conducts complex clinical research studies requiring the determination andevaluation of alternative methods, computational modeling, diagnosis andtreatment
Plansand directs studies to investigate human or animal disease, preventive methods,and treatments for disease
Mayassist in clinical laboratory operations
Followsstrict safety procedures when handling materials to avoid contamination
Teachesprinciples of medicine and medical and laboratory procedures to physicians,residents, students, and research staff
Conferswith health departments, industry personnel, physicians, and others to develophealth safety standards and public health improvement programs
Developstreatments and designs research tools and techniques
Exploressubject area and defines scope and selection of problems for investigationthrough conceptually related studies
Developshypotheses to be tested and methodology for evaluating results
Examinesthe results of clinical trials and adjusts the dosage levels to reduce negativeside effects or to induce better results
Communicatesresearch results to the scientific community via published papers
Developsnew proposals for research and obtain support for new and/ or continuingresearch activities
Makesrecommendations that have a major impact on extensive scientific research activities
Performsother related duties

Education:PhD in Biological Science or related field
