Assistant Buyer
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with vendors and distribution center
Manage and project markdowns
Manipulate spreadsheets and reports to complete thorough business analysis.
Analyze sales performance and make recommendations to maximize sales
Understand target customer by store
Communicate regularly with stores using the appropriate communication channels
Communicate regularly with vendor and merchant community to achieve department goals
Assist in buying responsibilities once buyer determines proficiency
Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Above average math skills
A strong work ethic
Pays close attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Willingness to learn and the desire to make a career with our company.
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Punctuality is a must
Must have strong analytical and computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications
EDUCATION AND WORK
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field
Up to two years retail merchandising experience
