Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist will provide support to a group via in-depth knowledge of Mercer's flash/invoicing process, procedures, and tools. This position will demonstrate an advanced understanding of the business' flash/invoicing process and establish direct client relationships related to billing requirements and needs. They will provide all supporting documentation to project manager to assist in flash/invoicing process (i.e. updated budget spreadsheet, invoice detail from prior month, current month charges by client/project) and will keep consultants apprised of financial/billing deadlines; supply drafts, prepare invoices and/or Commission Disclosure correspondence. In addition this position communicates openly and often among team members and continually strive for timely client billing through smooth workflow and ensure client needs are met. To fulfill this role, the Billing Specialist will:
Provide client invoicing and Consultant time keeping support via: accurate client account/project code set-up, reconciliation of monthly charges vs. project budget, development of draft invoices and cover letters, correct application of caveats and discipline to ensure timely and accurate invoicing of clients
Assist with FLASH on a timely and accurate basis. Generate WebCAS reports and distribute to client teams for verification of hours and description of services
Assist with setting up WebCAS codes and liaise with WebCAS administrator (find out what the client assignments will be, initiate codes in WebCAS, add codes to pick list as needed, etc). Advise consultants of LOB/PSC codes to use
Serve as liaison to office CDA/Unit Finance
Collect accrual amounts from team members and enter accruals to system quarterly by deadline
Work with client team to provide description of services performed.
Maintain client billing spreadsheets as necessary
Act as local conversion expert (LCE) via: Tracking relevant EL/SOW/Project/Policy by creating/running reports, researching agreements in MATS to include follow-up with consultants and maintain master document and monthly email/updates; maintain EL/SOW agreements in file and network; create/renew/validate account/project codes in WebCAS in a timely manner and collect necessary documentation from consultants; return or transfer all unapplied commissions that do not belong to office; manage process through proper reporting and updating spreadsheets; track commission variances to forecast and work with consultants and carriers to resolve, review reports and and manage process; prepare commission disclosure letters
Bachelors degree preferred
Minimum 3 years experience; financial analysis or accounting background; experience in consulting environment preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in Access, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Organizational, time management, execution and tracking skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
