Overview
The Bookkeeper applies accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Salvation Army standards for centralized accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Responsibilities
Prepare and distribute monthly bills to the residents
Summarize residents' payments, and forward record of same to DHQ for entry into Shelby
Records other operating income and prepares receipts as needed
Prepares income for bank deposits and transacts deposits at the local bank
Prepare batches of accounting detail to be submitted to DHQ as needed
Secure appropriates approvals for vendor invoices
Assures timely delivery of material to DHQ where vendor invoices are entered into the computerized system (Shelbu) and checks are cut.
Review weekly time clock punches and time off entries for Williams residence employees in Stromberg Kronos time clock system and transmit related reports to payroll team at DHQ for bi-weekly payroll
Maintain financial records and prepare financial reports and support budget preparation process as assigned
File copies of income back up, invoices, approvals and related information as needed for audit purposes
Maintains Petty Cash fund for day to day operations of the site
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Accounting, Business or similar field, or a minimum of 2 years experience in accounting utilizing a computerized system such as Shelby Accounting System.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
