ENGINEERING MANAGER - THE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. You will play a key role in maintaining and preserving the internal and external structure of the building deteriorated by users wear and tear influenced by weathering elements. ABOUT PARAMOUNT HOTEL NEW YORK

Paramount Hotel is a New York City landmark located just steps from Times Square. Constructed in the French Renaissance style by Thomas W. Lamb in 1927, the building reflects the theatrical character of its neighborhood. The bustle of the street disappears as you step inside - with its two-story lobby, reflective fireplace, dramatic lighting, and rich textures, it sets the stage for a hip, indulgent experience. Recently updated but retaining its historical charm, the Paramount Hotel is standing out - as the only hotel near Broadway NYC with genuine personality.

Kind of a no brainer to take this iconic hotel with us on our Generator journey. While making sure to keep its rich character - we are giving it the best parts of our Generator DNA in order to transform this into a social driven, loud and welcoming community hot spot (with some kick-ass parties & events, of course).

What's the job?

NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB

• In the absence of the Chief Engineer, co-ordinate all maintenance tasks, supervise, delegate, and prioritize duties to ensure the smooth running of the department
• Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building
• Liaise and co-ordinate with contractors on work to be carried out under contract agreements
• Ensure that contractors are aware of their responsibilities while on the premises and are informed of health and safety requirements, e.g. fire regulations, fire exits, hazardous substances
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety
• Be responsible for the day to day Health and Safety issues within the property
• Satisfy the relevant educational requirements needed in order to effectively carry out your health and safety duties
• Attend FLSD training and pass on-site test for property
• Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them
• Ensure that the works carried out are to the standards required. Take Report if any contractor recommended follow up work and resolve immediately
• Keep managers informed of any major defects in the building, plan or equipment which could affect the successful running of the property
• Care for and maintain company tools and equipment, keep it clean and tidy and ready for use
• Take dangerous equipment out of service and report it to the relevant person
• Maintain par stock levels of maintenance supplies and can follow the ordering procedure
• Working on weekends required

YOUR ROCK STAR EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in a similar role for at least 1 year
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
