Deputy Chief of Staff

Advise the Chief of Staff on the following:
Strategic planning for the establishment of care models that promote wellness and health maintenance, clinical excellence, predictability, patient satisfaction and cost efficiency and effectiveness. Advancing the objectives of continuously improving patient care and promoting research and medical education. Effective management in periods of crisis or change. Achieving defined and measurable objectives. Excelling in collaboration and partnership with a larger network of health care providers. Recruitment of staff, clinical service chiefs, and ACOSs. Development of new programs of excellence and strengthening those that already exist. In the absence of or at the direction of the Chief of Staff:
Serve as liaison to the academic affiliate on issues related to patient care, teaching and research. Provide administrative supervision of site specific service chiefs and ACOSs who are under the direction of the Chief of Staff. Provide oversight for day-to-day operational and medical decisions. Participate in VISN-2-level committees and task groups. Participate in performance improvement activities. Serve a member of the executive leadership team and participate in the facility and VISN level clinical and administrative committees, teams, and councils. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Reference:

Work is mostly sedentary in nature. Work requires moderate lifting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
