Vintage Sony WM-F701C Walkman Radio Cassette Player w/ BC-7F for sale in New York City, NY
This is a Vintage Sony Radio/ Cassette player model # WM-F701C. This Sony walkman was first released in 1988 and was one of Sony's best piece of audio equipments at the time. I bought this back in the 80's but hardly used it. My cousin was the one who used it until it stopped working. It's been sitting inside a drawer ever since. I just tested it and I can hear the motor turning in it. That's about it!! Didn't notice anything on the digital screen. Not sure what's wrong with it. Additionally, the cassette door won't stay shut!! That may be an easy fix. The battery is most likely dead after all these years. But when I insert it inside the battery charger, the red light (power) does come on. I have no way of testing the headset but the wires feel kinda sticky. That's probably due to age and heat. The battery door inside the walkman is missing, so is the battery door on the external battery adapter. Anyway, this walkman is being sold for parts only. Maybe someone can salvage some parts from it to repair theirs. This is a very rare piece of audio equipment and is over 30 years old obviously, that said, there are scratches and other imperfections.
