Vintage SONY Walkman 1982 Cassette Player tape Recorder for sale in New York City, NY
Rare portable Sony Cassette Recorder model # WM-R2. This model was released in back in 1982. The most unique and most sought after walkman of its time. That was 40 years ago believe it or not!!! This one is broken unfortunately!! I tested it briefly, and here are the results: The unit powers on, when I hit Play, I can hear motor turning inside but reels do not turn. Same goes with FAST FORWARD or REWIND. I think it may need a belt replacement considering its age. I tested the headset jack with a pair of headphones and I was able to listen to my voice from the built in mic. That's as far as I tested it!! You can use it for parts or repair it if you know how to. As stated above, the SONY walkman is 40 years old. That said, expect scratches, bumps and other flaws I may have overlooked.
