This 1964 Porsche 356C Cabrio is a matching numbers car, retaining its original engine, transmission, Front Hood, and Engine Cover, all stamped to match the Kardex.
Favorably equipped in Special Order Triple Black, we can't remember the last time we saw a 356 Cabrio in this color combination.
Retaining high levels of originality, with original floor pans and the original battery box, this 356 is an excellent survivor.
The interior is mostly entirely original, with the exception for the seat upholstery.
The soft top is a replacement that is in excellent nearly new condition.
The top cover may be the original.
This special order black paint on this 356 has aged gracefully, and benefits from recent paint correction that we had performed in preparation for the sale.
The matching numbers engine was fully rebuilt less than 10K miles ago.
A Cold leakdown and compression test performed last month reveals the engine is extremely healthy and ready for decades of use.
The carburetors are in excellent tune and the car fires up instantly from a Cold Start.
As was common in period with the hand prepared Kardex document, a single digit typo (replacing a 1 with a 3) was made on the engine number, and the engine number was written on the Kardex one digit off the actual number.
We have independently verified (via 356 Engine Number Range charts) that a typo was made on the Kardex, and that this is indeed the original matching numbers engine retaining all three of its matching stamped pieces.
Contact us today for what we think may be one of the best original 356C Cabrios on the market.
This 356 comes with a selection of past service records, Kardex, Original Owners manual, a spare set of wheels without tires, and a spare wheel.
