This 1973 Porsche 911T was fully remanufactured, with an Upgraded, Matching Numbers Engine and Fully Rebuilt, Matching Numbers Transmission.
Having been found in a barn as a matching numbers car in 2014, a Porsche Enthusiast from Maine embarked on an exquisite restoration to exacting custom standards.
This 911 was stripped to bare metal and repainted in a shade of Glasurit Racing Green, with a beautiful white stripe running down the center of the car.
The matching numbers engine was fully rebuilt and upgraded to more powerful 911E Specifications - retaining the desirable MFI system which was also upgraded to 911E Specs.
The Engine work was done by European Auto Solutions in Maine.
The matching numbers transmission was fully rebuilt with new Synchros at the same time, also by EAS.
The car is equipped with a custom upgraded sport shifter which provides a precise shifting feel.
The interior was fully redone from the ground up.
Tan square weave leather covers every upholstered surface, with round perforations in the seats.
Custom Sport seats in the front provide an engaging driving position and feel.
All new Oatmeal carpeting was installed, and the interior is as new.
All Upholstery work was done by Mike Curly of Michael J Coach Trimming.
The dashboard was backdated, with a painted dashboard in body color, and 356-Style Green Letter gauges that were all fully rebuilt and recalibrated by North Hollywood Speedometer.
A beautiful, custom Wooden Nardi wheel completes the interior.
Every aspect of the Suspension was fully overhauled, with all new parts and bushings in the entirety of the suspension.
The front trunk has been fully re-designed to accommodate a backdated fuel tank with a center fuel filler, evocative of the best known classic Porsche Remanufacturer.
The engine cover is custom with a polished stainless steel grille.
Beautiful louver vents are present on the engine cover and rear plate panel, providing a sporty look and additional air flow.
All said and done, well over $250,000 (not including the price of the car) was spent during this painstaking, exacting restoration, and it would cost more to do today.
This stunning custom Porsche is one of a kind, and there is likely not another like it anywhere in the world.
Retaining investment value that is often times lost in upgraded engine builds, this 911 Sonder is the best of both worlds.
Visceral Upgraded Porsche performance, with just the right elements of originality to not go overboard.
Having only covered 9K miles since this outstanding restoration, this 911 is ready to be enjoyed and used for decades to come.
It is not often you see a 911 that has been tastefully upgraded, and for the Porsche enthusiast looking for something a little more unusual, this 911 may be the perfect fit.
